Job Description

Support the implementation of EDP's European Affairs and advocacy strategy by contributing to stakeholder engagement, institutional outreach, legislative monitoring and coordination of advocacy activities in Brussels.

The role complements the work of Policy & Regulation by supporting the external representation of EDP and the day-to-day execution of European Affairs activities.

Main responsibilities:

Advocacy support

  • Support the implementation of EDP's European advocacy strategy.
  • Contribute to the preparation of advocacy plans and institutional engagement activities.
  • Support the preparation of meetings with EU institutions and stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing key advocacy messages and communication materials.

Stakeholder engagement

  • Support relationships with European institutions and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular contact with industry associations, think tanks and partner organisations.
  • Help preparing stakeholder mapping and engagement plans.
  • Contribute to the organisation of institutional events and high-level meetings.

Legislative monitoring

  • Monitor EU political and legislative developments.
  • Identify relevant initiatives affecting EDP businesses.
  • Prepare legislative summaries and briefing notes.
  • Helps coordinating information flows with internal teams.

Internal coordination

  • Support alignment between European Affairs and business units.
  • Coordinate internal inputs for meetings and advocacy activities.
  • Prepare presentations and briefing packs for senior management.

Knowledge management

  • Maintain stakeholder databases and CRM.
  • Support reporting activities.
  • Contribute to benchmarking exercises.
  • Maintain internal tracking tools.

What are we looking for:

  • Degree in European Affairs, Political Science, Economics, Law, International Relations or similar.
  • 3-6 years of experience in Brussels.
  • Experience in EU institutions, associations, consultancies or utilities.
  • Good understanding of EU decision-making.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in an international environment.
  • Fluent English.
  • Additional EU languages are an asset.
  • High-quality briefings.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent coordination across the organisation.
  • Timely monitoring of EU developments.
