Health Policy at Roche Diagnostics is focused on cultivating thought leadership and driving policy changes to improve diagnostic access globally. As the EU Health Policy Leader for Roche Diagnostics you will work with colleagues across the organization to navigate and shape the healthcare ecosystem in Europe. This role demands an experienced relationship manager to foster collaboration across different policy teams internally to drive health system innovation and ensure Roche’s freedom to operate externally. This role is part of the Health Policy team and will liaise closely with environmental policy to support execution.

The Opportunity

  • Develop strategies for addressing business critical topics and work with representatives of other functions to deliver multi-stakeholder engagement plan
  • Identify policy gaps, maintain existing policies, update policies and facilitate the holistic policy lifecycle from development through implementation, including developing relevant supporting documents and tools for policy operationalization
  • Monitor changes in healthcare policies and government activities, identifying opportunities and challenges for Roche Diagnostics
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key external and internal stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange and influence health system and environmental policies and practices
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for, and represent Roche in front of external ecosystem stakeholders, including policymakers, governments, payers, trade associations, NGOs, patient associations and influencers to advocate for health system innovation
  • Enable an environment that fosters development of best practices and thought leadership for all aspects pertaining to Roche's healthcare policy agenda and health system engagement and across regional and affiliate partners; exemplify the principle of proactive and continuous improvement and customer centricity
  • Support senior management on external engagements with NGOs, policymakers and other key stakeholder associations.
  • Partner with Environmental Regulatory Affairs to ensure alignment across the Roche organization.
  • Working closely with other Roche policy functions across global (health and environmental policy focus), and countries affiliates to leverage capabilities and achieve objectives with a focus on EU Govt Affairs, Swiss External Affairs and German Govt Affairs.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with subject matter expertise in policy required.
  • Advanced degree in relevant areas such as law, health policy, life sciences, public health or health economics preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in health policy in diagnostics, healthcare, or related industry, and/or government. Track record of external engagement with trade leadership, medical associations, academic institutions, NGOs, patient organizations or coalitions. Experience working with Medtech Europe leadership strongly preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong cross-functional teaming skills and experience with matrix environments
  • Robust organizational and time management skills: ability to effectively lead and complete multiple priorities and projects
  • Strong consulting skills: active listening skills, ability to extract and quickly process key information, summarize key needs or interests of clients, and provide targeted and appropriate insights and recommendations
  • Ability to travel globally
  • Fluent in written and verbal English

Locations

European Based. As this position is a global role, international business travel will be required depending upon the business location of the successful candidate and ongoing business project activities.
