About the role
The Medical Affairs Lead – Europe OU is the senior regional medical leader accountable for Medical & Scientific Affairs strategy, governance, and execution acrossHaleon’sWellness,OTCand Oral Healthportfolio in Europe.
This role positions Medical Affairs as a strategic growth enabler, embedding Trusted Science early into portfolio, innovation, and lifecycle decisions.
The role leads a multi‑disciplinary Medical Affairs organisation and provides senior scientific leadership across category, evidence, governance, and market execution.
Role Responsibilities
Define and lead the Europe OU Medical & Scientific Affairs strategy for Wellness,OTCand Oral healthcategories, aligned toHaleongrowth priorities and the global M&SA vision.
Provide senior medical and scientific leadership across portfolio and innovation decision‑making, ensuring Trusted Science is embedded early and consistently.
Own medical governance and scientific quality across Europe, ensuring compliant,scalableand efficient medical execution in line withHaleonSOPs and values.
Lead and develop a high‑performing Medical Affairs organisationacross evidence,categoryand market medical roles.
Sponsor evidence strategy, claims substantiation and scientific excellence, ensuring robust alignment between evidence generation, publications, medicaleducationand external scientific engagement.
Provide medical leadership across the full product lifecycle, including launch excellence, claim evolution, reformulation, line extensions and portfolio optimisation, ensuring medical input drives sustainable in‑market growth as well as innovation.
Act as the senior regional medical representative, partnering closely with R&D, Regulatory, Safety, Legal, Commercial and Category leaders to enable confident, risk‑aware decisions.
Own the Europe OU external scientific engagement and medical education framework, including advisory boards, expert scientific exchange, and non‑promotional education, ensuring activities are insight‑driven, compliant and strengthenHaleon’sTrusted Science reputation.
RepresentHaleonexternally as a credible scientific leader across Wellness and OTC, strengtheningHaleon’sreputation for Trusted Science with experts, regulators, and scientific partners.
Own regional Medical Affairs resource planning and prioritisation, including budget stewardship and deployment of medical capability across Europe to maximise impact and efficiency.
This role reports directly to the Head of R&DEurope OUand is a member of theEU OURDLT,accountable for M&SA activitieson regional level
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a senior Medical Affairs leader with strong scientific credibility, enterprise mindset anddemonstratedability to lead at scale. You are comfortable operating in a complex matrix, influence decisively at senior levels, and build teams that deliver scientific excellence with speed and clarity for consumers and customers.
Basic Qualifications
Extensive experience in Medical Affairs / Medical & Scientific Affairs leadership within consumer health, OTC, wellness,VMSor pharmaceutical environments.
Proventrack recordof setting and executing regional medical strategy across multiple categories and markets.
Deepexpertisein medical governance, evidence strategy, claims substantiation and scientific engagement within highly regulated environments (EU/UK or equivalent).
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multi‑disciplinary teams, including senior scientific leaders, in a matrix operating model.
Strong business acumen, with experience translating science into portfolio,brandand innovation impact.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g. PhD, MD, PharmD) or equivalent depth of scientific experience.
