Job Description

LMW, on behalf of the European Union Agency for Asylum ( EUAA) is looking for a Protection Officer - interim support (Trafficking in Human Beings) to join their team.

The Protection Officer - interim support (Trafficking in Human Beings) works under the coordination of EUAA and the Greek authorities (National Centre for Social Solidarity - EKKA) in performing some or all of the following tasks with end beneficiaries applicants for international protection:

  • Support EKKA in developing, reviewing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidance andworkflows, in the context of the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) for the Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings;
  • Provide assistance to EKKA in the coordination and implementation of activities in the context of the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) for the Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings, including registration of cases of applicants for international protection in the NRM and monitoring of relevant THB cases;
  • Contribute to the analysis of THB trends data and statistical data, as well as the development of related reports of EKKA;
  • Support EKKA in organising, developing and delivering training and capacity building activities, in the framework of the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) for the Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings (THB);
  • Assess the delivery of implemented training activities and propose necessary adjustments;
  • Contribute to training needs analysis on the ground, in close consultation with EKKA and relevant stakeholders;
  • Discuss and design tailor-made trainings, based on the needs analysis conducted on the ground;
  • Support EKKA on the liaison/cooperation with other public authorities and other stakeholders on matters related to THB, in particular with Asylum Service, Reception and Identification Service, General Secretariat for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection and the Office of the National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings of Greece;
  • Provide updates on national and European legislative framework to EKKA in the areas of reception and vulnerability, focusing on THB;
  • Participate in meetings and liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Attend regular or ad hoc meetings with EUAA, as requested;
  • Be available to participate in missions, as per the operational needs of EUAA and national authorities (EKKA);
  • Provide to EUAA regular analytical and statistical reports of provided services, challenges faced and best practices observed;
  • Draft documents, templates, minutes and reports;
  • Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant for the specific profile.

Requirements

  • University degree is required, preferably in the field of law, political, humanitarian and social studies;
  • Post-graduate degree will be an advantage;
  • Demonstrated previous experience in relevant tasks is required;
  • Demonstrated previous experience at central/headquarters level will be an advantage;
  • Previous experience and/or completed training in didactics will be an advantage;
  • Very good understanding of the Greek migration and reception context;
  • Fluency in Greek and in English (oral and written);
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel), use of internet and web-based applications;
  • Very good intercultural/interdisciplinary communication and cooperation skills;
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure
