Job Description

You will lead the EMEAI Packaging Regulatory Affairs team, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and Sherwin-Williams Safety by Design standards. You will partner cross‑functionally and globally to align regulatory strategy, address customer and industry regulatory matters, monitor emerging regulations, and represent the business with industry associations and government bodies.
Location: Anywhere in EMEAI
  • Manage and lead the EMEAI Packaging Regulatory Affairs team

  • Interface with the Technical, Commercial, Manufacturing and Purchasing teams to develop strategy and recommendations.

  • Interface with Global Packaging, Corporate Regulatory Affairs and IT to align objectives for maximum productivity.

  • Develop department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable EU laws, rules, and regulations, and the Sherwin-Williams Safety by Design development protocol.

  • Respond to customer inquiries related to regulatory issues and develop/maintain positive relationships in the industry.

  • Identify emerging issues/regulations and industry concerns and help develop appropriate actions/responses for the Packaging business.

  • Administer and oversee corporate Sherwin-Williams initiatives

  • Interface with Industry Associations and Government Agencies on regulations and provide feedback.

  • B.S. degree, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field. MS or PhD a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of chemical industry experience including administration of EFSA and REACH programs preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising technical personnel with proven record of providing leadership, growth opportunities and effective performance management.
  • Experience in coatings or polymers chemistry is preferred.
  • Highly motivated with demonstrated use of critical thinking skills and successful problem resolution.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers.
  • Understanding of SDS authoring, global food packaging regulations, global chemical control regulations, and health, safety and environmental regulations and an awareness of new and emerging initiatives in these areas.
  • Strong computer skills.
