What’s unique about this role?

Responsible for the oversight of all shipping and receiving operations for the eDiscovery Technical Support (ETS) teams. Maintains the Intake computer lab, equipment, and peripherals. Supports the Evidence Coordinator team member and Intake Department with secure storage facility and coordinates proper handling of sensitive materials including desktop/laptop computers, hard drives, CD/DVDs, etc., and assists with projects as needed.


What will this person do?

  • Oversee Shipping/Receiving of packages containing client media/evidence
  • Maintain proper chain of custody for all incoming/outgoing items
  • Provide reports all incoming/outgoing packages for auditing purposes
  • Prepare and coordinate all Shipping Requests from the Client Services, Intake, Production, and Forensics Departments. Including packaging, courier scheduling, and tasks to FedEx facilities
  • Track all packages incoming and outgoing to ensure accurate delivery on time and be able to address any exceptions or problems before they arise
  • Keep a full inventory of shipping/receiving supplies on hand (FedEx boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etc.)
  • Support the Intake teams with evidence handling by connecting hard drives to Intake computers for access by remote employees
  • Support the Intake team by assisting with the Intake queue as needed (can include, but not limited to, data copying, archiving, purge requests, drive formatting, etc.)
  • Maintains inventory of Intake lab equipment, software, and licensing. Including organizing computers, cabling, peripherals, troubleshooting, and working with Information Technology tech support
  • Assists with logging all incoming media into the evidence database
  • Store, safeguard, and maintain all media/evidence in a storage facility
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized storage facility
  • Provide inventory reports on client media/evidence
  • Assist with the disposition/destruction of evidentiary media as needed
  • This role typically requires 1 year of related experience (warehousing, shipping/receiving, help desk, customer service, forensics, computer science, etc.)

  • Keen eye for detail, accuracy, and organization – this is an absolute “must have”
  • Demonstrated experience with computer hardware (e.g. handling and formatting hard drives, USB types, software installations, encryption, troubleshooting computers, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office skills and experience working with Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Apple Macintosh is a plus
  • Data entry experience and familiarity with chain of custody procedures is a plus
  • Familiarity with data copying programs (e.g. RoboCopy, FastCopy, and Total Commander)
  • Ability to solve problems, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as independently
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Self-motivated, self-directed and the ability to take initiative and solve problems
  • Develop knowledge of shipping vendor procedures (FedEx, UPS, USPS, Courier, international, etc.)
  • Familiarity in eDiscovery and legal proceedings a plus


Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.
