Position:Process Engineer Lead

The Process Engineering Team Lead is responsible for producing the Process Engineering deliverables required for a project or Key Indicators proposal and will carry the responsibilities of the Process Engineer. At the same time, the Process Engineering Team Lead is responsible for managing and developing a team of GET / Junior Process Engineers as part of the Process Engineering Team.

  • Develop, configure and optimize process schemes throughout the facility, considering inputs from clients, products specifications, and cost of solution.
  • Size and define process equipment and utilities for O&G facilities during proposal and project execution.
  • Perform process engineering calculations and address the process engineering design challenges. Keep abreast of industry codes, standards, regulations and guidelines. Meet or exceed project expectations in a timely manner within the budget limits. Co-ordination with intra / inter disciplinary team and provide the required deliverables as and when requested

Major expertise in in below domains:

    • Gas treatment to meet water / hydrocarbon dew point or to remove contaminants like H2S or mercury
    • Low gas flaring
    • Gas to power
    • Vapor gas recovery

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Process Design Engineering including performing process simulations, design calculations, Process Optimization, sizing & selection of equipment, depressurization calculations and flare network studies etc. for Tenders (as required) and for awarded Projects.
  • Preparation of various engineering deliverables (Drawings & Documents) such as Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, Process Datasheets, Equipment Specifications, Heat and Mass balance, Cause & Effect Diagrams, control philosophy, shutdown philosophy, HAZOP actions close out, Operation & maintenance manuals etc.
  • Technology selection and concept design for Gas Treatment/Gas to power
  • Additional required technical skills:
    • Definition of Basis of design
    • Safety in design: Knowledge of API standards (520, 521, 2000, etc..) is absolutely required.
    • Industrial codes: Deep knowledge and practice of API standards, in particular API 520, 521, 537, 2000, 12J, 14C, 14E, 620, 650, etc.…
  • Support the Process Engineering Management with the assessment of his/her team’s skills/competencies and the creation of individual development plans for his/her direct reports.
  • Assist the Process Engineering Manager with recruitment and undertake technical interviews as required.
  • Process Engineering activities part of the Process Engineer Job Description such as:
    • Ensure all his/her own engineering and design work performed meets quality, cost and schedule requirements.
    • Review of vendor and subcontractor documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations to check compliance with project requirements.
    • Ensure direct, effective and timely communications of project requirements, request for actions, responses to requests, routine reporting and sharing important information to Project Lead Engineer.
    • Be fully aware of and implement, where appropriate, the latest International and National Industry Standards, Codes of Practice, software and requirements of ‘good engineering practice’ for all work performed.
    • Review and understand client specifications during proposal phase and raise clarifications and deviations.
    • Provide process input data to others disciplines and support to Operations & Site team on engineering/technical matters, including pre-commissioning and commissioning activities and/or trouble shooting.
    • Ability and willingness to travel, as required to fulfil project and business needs.
    • Actively support, participate in, and maintain the integrity and on-going function of the company and facility HSSE program, ensuring a safe/healthy work environment

Qualifications and Experience:

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical/petroleum engineering or similar

Experience:

  • 14+ years O&G Industry experience
  • Prior work experience in EPCs, Engineering Consultancies, Production Facility Engineering, Site Engineering support for Pre-commissioning, Commissioning activities
  • Deep understanding of process engineering concepts and strongly familiarized with international industry standards.

Expertise:

  • Thorough process engineering knowledge with strong Engineering background
  • Oil & Gas Upstream Processes
  • Simulation Software (Hysys minimum)
