The Ethics and Compliance Manager will be an integral member of the Corporate E&C function in the Legal Department and will report to the Executive Counsel, Ethics and Compliance. The E&C Manager will advance Textron’s leading ethics and compliance program by supporting and overseeing execution of the Company’s E&C operational framework and using strong project management skills and data-driven insights to drive E&C program improvement globally.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the Corporate E&C Action Plan, calendar and SharePoint site.
  • Monitor and manage reports made to the Textron HelpLine, our concern reporting channel, and ensure that all reported matters are assigned for handling and investigated, with outcomes documented in a timely manner. Serve as administrator for the reporting software, with the ability to manage access, generate reports, troubleshoot issues / improvements, interact with vendors, and train personnel on the use of the software.
  • Conduct and/or support internal investigations, as required, and prepare investigation reports of findings and conclusions with respect to the matters investigated.
  • Manage our annual employee compliance certification and compliance training campaigns, coordinating closely with each Textron business unit. Work with subject matter experts and coordinate development of online training courses. Serve as administrator and expert for our online training software platform, with the ability to assign access, generate reports, deploy modules and certifications, troubleshoot issues / improvements, interact with the vendors, and train new personnel on use of the software platforms.
  • Provide informative and engaging live training on assigned compliance topics, as needed. Work with business units to track live training sessions for annual reporting.
  • Prepare for and lead informative and engaging Ethics & Compliance Working Group meetings with compliance professionals from across the global E&C organization.
  • Support the development, launch, and analysis of our periodic culture of compliance survey and ethics awards program.
  • Work with subject matter experts on periodic enterprise E&C policy updates.
  • Work with the Communications Team to craft eye-catching E&C communications for the enterprise. Maintain the E&C Compliance intranet portal and update as necessary.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the enterprise Ethics and Compliance Program to Textron’s business unit personnel, including assisting them in preparing their annual action plans, assigning training, and responding to requests for support.
  • Maintain an awareness of new developments and decisions relating to ethics and compliance topics and communicate those new developments and decisions to the broader enterprise.
  • Support review of meals, gifts, travel, entertainment, conflicts of interest and similar areas.
  • Report on Textron’s E&C program to Textron’s executive leadership team, as requested.
  • Manage and oversee the work of a compliance specialist/analyst.
  • Perform and/or support other projects and/or duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required; professional certification in compliance (CCEP, LPEC) is desirable but not required.
  • At least five years of progressive work experience in a corporate compliance, audit, legal, regulatory, or risk management environment, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing (non-healthcare or financial) setting.
  • Understanding of regulatory expectations, legal and regulatory risks, and best practices and continuous improvement activities associated with corporate compliance programming.
  • Prior experience with internal investigations preferred.
  • Experience managing / developing team members, fostering growth and performance excellence.
  • Familiarity with LMS and other software used in compliance program management (Helpline, training, etc.).

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills to support compliance program management (dashboards / analytics reporting, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and able to lead and manage multiple ongoing projects at a time.
  • Discretion and ability to manage sensitive issues in a highly professional, confidential manner.
  • Ability to inspire trust and confidence throughout corporate and multiple business units.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This is an in-office position that allows for regular engagement with the team to foster collaboration, collegiality, and communication. Occasional travel may be required.
