More Than a Job: A Mission

We are seeking an experienced Ethics and Compliance professional who can advise and guide our organization in a complex, international environment. This strategic role will enable you to maintain the highest standards of integrity across our operations in North America. You will work alongside people who demonstrate accountability, passion, and dedication.

Your Role, Your Impact

  • Lead Ethics and Compliance programs across North America in alignment with international standards.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and assessments of partners, suppliers, and customers prior to contractual engagements.
  • Prevent and manage corruption and compliance risks through robust controls, investigations, training, and awareness initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams to address conflicts of interest and provide guidance on ethical matters.
  • Support business leaders in navigating complex compliance challenges while fostering a strong culture of integrity and accountability.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with applicable Canadian, U.S., and international laws and regulations.
  • Work within dynamic and committed teams, tackling complex challenges that shape the future of mobility while fostering trust among customers, partners, and local communities.

What You Bring

  • Law degree and membership in good standing with a Canadian or U.S. bar association.
  • 8 to 15 years of experience, including significant experience in ethics, compliance, investigations, and risk management.
  • Experience in industries serving public sector customers, such as transportation, infrastructure, energy, engineering, or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of anti-corruption frameworks, third-party risk management, and compliance best practices.
  • Demonstrated communication, training, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and make sound decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% across Canada and the United States.

How Success Is Measured

  • Quality, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of compliance and risk prevention programs.
  • Timely completion of due diligence reviews, internal investigations, and corrective action plans.
  • Level of employee engagement with ethics and compliance initiatives and adherence to company policies.
  • Successful management of compliance risks while enabling business objectives.

Alstom, A Great Place to Grow

  • Opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding the integrity of major rail and mobility projects with significant social and economic impact.
  • Career growth opportunities toward strategic leadership responsibilities within a global Ethics & Compliance network.
  • Exposure to diverse teams, business partners, and projects across Canada, the United States, and internationally.
  • A collaborative and inclusive environment where ethics, innovation, and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do.

Here, progress is not always easy. The scale is immense, and the challenges are complex. But the impact is real. When the system works, trains move, communities stay connected, and people get where they need to be safely and efficiently. It creates a lasting sense of accomplishment. And a legacy that endures.

Language Requirements

Professional fluency in English is required. French language skills are considered a strong asset, particularly when supporting stakeholders across Canada. Knowledge of additional languages is also valued given our international business environment.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
