Job Location: CAIU MAIN OFFICE - ENOLA, PA 17025
Position Type: Seasonal
Salary Range: $58,554.00 - $87,853.00 Hourly

Positions Available:
Teachers: PA Certified in Special Education preferred
Speech & Language Pathologists: PA Speech Certification required
Deaf & Hard of Hearing Itinerants: PA DDH Certification required
Occupational & Physical Therapist: Current OT or PT License required
Certified School Nurse: PA School Nurse Certification required
Vision Itinerant: PA Visually Impaired Certification required
Schedule: The ESY Program will be held from June 29, 2026 – July 30, 2026.
Individuals available to work all scheduled ESY days and hours are preferred.
ESY Dates are as follows:
June 29 - July 1
July 7 - 9
July 14 - 16
July 21 - 23
July 28 - 30
Locations: Hill Top Academy (West Shore Location) or TBD (East Shore Location)
Staff Hours:  8 AM – 12 PM
Student Hours: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Salary: Paid per hour based on years of experience and education in coordination with the CAIU Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
Purpose: The Capital Area Intermediate Unit is seeking highly motivated Professionals to work our Extended School Year (ESY) programming. The selected candidates will be working with students in the Multiple Disabilities, Autism Support, Deaf & Hard of Hearing, and Emotional Support Programs.

QualificationsKnowledge & Requirements:
Education Requirements - Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Education with an active PA Certification. See above for the required certifications.
Other

Qualifications: Understanding and implementation of behavioral management strategies. Understanding and implementation of evidence based strategies for students with disabilities. Independence and confidence in IDEA paperwork, time management, and classroom organization/scheduling.

The Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU) is one of 29 educational services agencies located throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Created in 1971 by an Act of PA legislature, IUs are intended to support and provide services to the schools and districts in the IU’s territory or “footprint.” The CAIU serves Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry, and northern York counties, which includes Harrisburg; hence the name “Capital Area.”

Located in Enola with classrooms and program locations throughout the region, the CAIU’s mission to achieve educational excellence with families, schools and communities through leadership, partnership and innovation.
