Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of prefabricated aluminum shelters and enclosures serving transit agencies, government organizations, corporations, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities throughout the United States and Canada, is seeking an Estimator / Sales Quotations Specialist to join our team in New Jersey.

This role sits at the intersection of customer engagement, technical expertise, and project estimation. The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming customer inquiries into accurate, detailed, and competitive quotations while serving as a key point of contact throughout the quoting process.

This is a hands-on position that requires a strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with customers, analyzing technical information, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver timely and accurate proposals.

Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine customer requirements.
• Generate material take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates for products and related services.
• Develop detailed quotations, proposals, and bid responses for government and commercial projects.
• Communicate directly with customers via phone, email, and video meetings to clarify project requirements and specifications.
• Monitor and respond to bid opportunities through relevant procurement and bidding portals.
• Utilize CRM systems to manage opportunities, track follow-ups, and maintain customer records.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams to confirm lead times, manufacturing capabilities, and project feasibility.
• Support the sales team by providing technical product information and quotation assistance.
• Maintain organized project files, bid documentation, and quotation records.
• Follow opportunities from initial inquiry through quote submission and ongoing customer follow-up.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience in estimating, quotations, sales support, or a related technical role.
• Solid understanding of construction practices, project cycles, and industry terminology.
• Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with CRM software and standard business applications, including Microsoft Office and email platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple quotations, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn about products, systems, and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with aluminum fabrication, metal building products, or related construction materials.
• Familiarity with government procurement processes, public-sector bidding, and bid portals.
• Experience using estimating software, takeoff tools, or related construction technology platforms.
• Knowledge of CSI divisions, construction specifications, and industry standards.
