
The Estimator is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and preparing detailed cost information to maximize cost-effectiveness during the preconstruction process. The Estimator will visit jobsites to gather necessary information, analyze proposals, specifications, and construction documents to thoroughly understand the project. The Estimator will work closely with Project Managers to coordinate and oversee the bid process. The Estimator then determines the time, labor, construction materials, and product costs for projects and communicates these requirements to clients.

Requirements
Qualifications & Required Skills
The Estimator should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or at a minimum, an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent field experience.
The Estimator should be organized and detail oriented, with an ability to properly manage their time by prioritizing tasks. They should be analytical and possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They should possess strong communication skills, both verbal and writing, and be able to interact and collaborate with coworkers, clients, and outside vendors. They should be self-motivated and committed.
The Estimator should be proficient, or capable of becoming proficient, in various software applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Bluebeam, SmartBid and On Screen Takeoff, etc., and have the capability to learn new software applications specific to the industry, such as those necessary for estimating and scheduling, as well as project management and project controls.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be aware of the physical demands of the construction industry and may be required to perform physical labor and other strenuous tasks necessary to the successful completion of projects. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. They may be required to sit and stand for periods of time and travel significant distances in a given day. They must be capable of performing tasks that may require bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing and crawling. Candidates must have the ability to work in all weather conditions.
