Job Description

Are you an experienced Estimator looking for greater variety, ownership, and purpose in your work?

Citycare Property is seeking a commercially minded Estimator to join our Christchurch-based Project Office team. In this role, you'll lead the pricing, estimating and tender development process for a broad range of government and social infrastructure projects valued from $5k to $1mil.

Working alongside Project Managers, Portfolio Managers, operational teams and customers, you'll play a critical role in securing work that supports communities across New Zealand. From facility upgrades and renewals through to capital works and maintenance projects, you'll help ensure every tender is accurate, competitive, and positioned for success.

Ngā Kawenga Takohanga | What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of tender responses
  • Develop accurate estimates, pricing models, and cost plans
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentation
  • Analyse commercial risks and opportunities and recommend pricing strategies
  • Build strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants

Ngā Mea ka Mauria e Koe | What You'll Bring

  • A qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Experience pricing construction, facilities maintenance, renewals, or capital works projects
  • Knowledge of New Zealand construction practices, Building Code requirements, and contracts such as NZS3910 and NZS3917
  • Experience using estimating software such as Benchmark, CostX, Procore, or similar
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tenders and competing priorities simultaneously
