UGL Utilities Operations & Maintenance business is a trusted provider of essential services across power, water, and gas sectors. With a strong reputation and long-standing contracts in power distribution, transmission, and water operations and maintenance, we are poised for significant growth.

About the role

Primary purpose is to lead estimating function for tenders, EOIs, Operational budgets and any other pricing exercises as required, and secondly to provide business analysis and strategic support to the operational and strategy development functions of the Business Unit.

This position can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the estimating process, by contributing to and bringing together the pricing, documentation and stakeholders/ consultants, Subject Matter Expert, vendor and partner input.

  • Taking a support estimating role when required;

  • Coordinate & manage estimate inputs from proposal stakeholders, internal and external SMEs, vendors, subcontractors, designers, consultants etc. as required

  • Complete the required documentation and obtain the appropriate approvals in a timely manner;

  • Ensure the tender process including estimate reviews in the UGL Way is correctly followed and when requested conduct peer reviews on estimates;

  • Ensure estimates are transparent, accurate, benchmarked and prepared for reviews

  • Support proposal lead in pre-tender and post-tender pricing clarifications and submissions;

  • Adherence to the company health and safety policy;

  • Maintain accurate estimating database to share with other team members

  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements

  • Liaison/co-ordination with the Chief Estimator (Group)

  • Assist in the development of all suitable procedures, templates and checklists for the Estimating function.

  • Attendance all Gate reviews and Project Reviews as required.

About You

  • Min 5yrs experience in Electrical Estimating l role ideally within an engineering/ project management/ infrastructure environment

  • A thorough understanding of estimating principles and practices in multi-discipline environment.

  • Familiarity of Major Projects and Tier 1 contracting on large scale sophisticated projects;

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering desirable but not essential;

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in estimating packages - preferably Expert Estimator and/or CATS.
