A Day in the Life:
Attend pre-bid & post-bid meetingsAct as tender lead on single-scope and/or multi-scope projectsMaintain directory of product suppliersPrepare construction progress schedulesParticipate in initial handoff meetings and production meetingsAttend meeting with project team to perform an Autopsy on the completed projectDevelop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliersConsult, communicate, and build rapport with internal departments Coordinate the investigation and resolution of disputes, defects and back chargesVisit job sitesInput information in centralized cost estimating database (PIL)Quality and delivery of direct reports
What You Bring:
Min. 4+ years’ experience within a Estimator Role in a construction industry, particularly in the Industrial sectorEducation in a civil engineering / building science program or a related educational field. Architectural Technology. Construction Management. Construction Engineering Ability to read specs and drawingsGeneral Building Envelope knowledgeKnowledge of Insulated Panel/Cladding systems is considered an assetProficiency in MS office package, including MS Project.Experience in Blue Beam Experience in Sketch up preferred but not required Sales skillsStrong organizational and communication skillsStrong analytical, problem solving and decision making abilitiesStrong negotiation skillsAbility to multi task and work in a team environment
