Advanced Estate Planning | Elder Law | Practice Leadership We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join a busy and sophisticated estate planning and elder law practice. This is an opportunity for an attorney with strong technical and drafting capabilities who is ready to take on a meaningful leadership role within an established practice and help continue developing and elevating the firm's estate planning department. The firm's clients typically have estates ranging from approximately $5 million to $45 million, requiring thoughtful, advanced planning strategies tailored to each client's financial, family, and legacy goals. The practice is multi-jurisdictional and combines sophisticated estate planning with a well-established elder law practice focused heavily on document-driven planning and asset protection. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys both the technical side of estate planning and the opportunity to mentor others, improve processes, and help shape the continued growth of a practice area. This position offers more than the opportunity to manage an existing book of estate planning work. The right attorney will have the ability to influence how the practice develops, mentor the next generation of attorneys and staff, and potentially become a leader of the estate planning practice area. For an experienced estate planning attorney who wants to continue developing professionally while bringing sophisticated technical expertise to an established and growing practice, this role provides both immediate responsibility and meaningful long-term opportunity. Key Responsibilities Advise high-net-worth clients on sophisticated estate planning, wealth preservation, asset protection, and related planning strategies. Independently draft, review, and produce complex estate planning documents at a high level of technical competency. Develop comprehensive estate plans based on clients' financial circumstances, family dynamics, tax considerations, and long-term objectives. Work within a multi-jurisdictional practice and navigate planning considerations involving clients, assets, and families across multiple states. Collaborate with the firm's elder law practice on planning matters involving asset protection and document-based strategies. Manage client matters independently while maintaining a high level of responsiveness, judgment, and client service. Supervise and provide direction to paralegals supporting estate planning matters. Mentor and help develop junior attorneys, particularly in drafting, technical knowledge, and client counseling. Help establish and refine best practices, workflows, templates, and quality standards within the estate planning department. Assume a leadership role within the estate planning practice and help take the department to its next stage of growth. Requirements Significant experience practicing in estate planning, including advanced planning for high-net-worth individuals and families. Experience with elder law and/or asset protection planning strongly preferred. Exceptional drafting skills with the ability to independently create sophisticated estate planning documents, not simply review work prepared by others. Strong understanding of trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advanced directives, and advanced estate planning strategies. Experience handling sophisticated client matters with a high degree of independence. Demonstrated ability or interest in supervising, mentoring, and developing attorneys and paralegals. Strong client counseling, communication, organization, and judgment. Comfortable working within a busy, collaborative, hybrid law practice. Experience with Clio Manage and Clio Grow is a significant plus, although training can be provided.
