Estate Hospitality Operations Manager – Luxury Retreat Destination (Near Skipton)

We are recruiting a hands-on Estate Hospitality Operations Manager for a leading luxury retreat, wellness, events, and multi-property countryside estate near Skipton, North Yorkshire
This is a senior operational leadership role with real breadth and pace, overseeing a complex estate that delivers international corporate retreats, wellness and spa experiences, large-scale events, luxury country house accommodation, and TV & film production hosting
This is not a purely strategic office-based role — it requires someone who is present, engaged, and operationally hands-on, leading from the front and setting the standard across the estate every day.
The Role
As Estate Hospitality Operations Manager, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day running and long-term performance of all hospitality operations across the estate
You will be actively involved in the operation while also driving standards, structure, and development across multiple departments including:
- International retreat programmes
- Wellness spa and guest wellbeing experiences
- Estate-wide events, weddings, and private functions
- TV & film production hospitality operations
- Luxury accommodation across multiple country houses
- Guest services, housekeeping, food & beverage, and retreat delivery
You will ensure every guest experience is delivered to a consistently exceptional, luxury standard, while keeping operations efficient, well-organised, and commercially strong.
This is a Hands-On Leadership Role
We are looking for someone who:
- Leads from the front and is visible across the estate
- Is comfortable stepping into operational detail when needed
- Sets the tone for service, standards, and culture
- Is actively involved in guest experience delivery and problem-solving
- Takes ownership, not just oversight
This is a role for a hospitality professional who still enjoys being in the operation, not removed from it.
Key Responsibilities
Estate-Wide Operations
- Oversee all hospitality operations across multiple estate sites and departments
- Ensure seamless delivery across retreats, accommodation, events, and wellness
- Maintain luxury standards across all guest-facing areas
- Be actively present in operations, supporting teams during peak periods
- Ensure full operational readiness of all venues and properties
- Manage health & safety compliance and operational governance
International Retreat & Guest Experience
- Lead delivery of international corporate retreat programmes
- Work directly with global clients to deliver bespoke, high-end experiences
- Support the design and execution of tailored retreat journeys
- Act as senior operational lead for high-value international guests
Events, Wellness & Estate Operations
- Oversee estate-wide events, weddings, and private functions
- Support delivery of wellness and spa guest experiences
- Manage hospitality operations for TV & film productions on site
- Ensure all country houses and accommodation assets are maintained to luxury standards
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, support, and develop a multi-disciplinary hospitality team
- Be a visible, hands-on leader across all departments
- Drive training, standards, and performance across the estate
- Foster a strong, engaged, and service-led team culture
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing team development
Commercial & Operational Control
- Manage operational budgets and cost control across departments
- Support commercial growth of retreats, events, and accommodation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and guest experience
- Report on operational performance and service delivery
About You
We are looking for an experienced hospitality leader with genuine passion for operations and guest experience
You will have:
- Senior experience in hospitality operations, estates, hotels, or luxury retreats
- A hands-on leadership style with a willingness to be actively involved in service
- Strong experience across multi-site or complex operational environments
- Exposure to international guests, retreats, or high-end hospitality
- Experience in events, wellness, or experiential hospitality (highly desirable)
- Strong people leadership skills with a supportive but high-standard approach
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving ability
- A calm, practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Genuine passion for hospitality, guest experience, and team culture
