Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of alarm security system operations with a strong emphasis on logistics, system design, inventory management, and program oversight. This role ensures seamless delivery of security solutions from design through deployment while optimizing resources, maintaining compliance, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Coordination
- Oversee end-to-end logistics for alarm system installations, including scheduling, dispatching, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Optimize technician routing and workforce utilization to improve efficiency and reduce service delays.
- Manage multi-site deployments and ensure alignment across concurrent projects.
System Design & Implementation
- Manage alarm security system programs in accordance with government contracts, statements of work (SOW), and performance work statements (PWS).Review technical specifications, drawings, and scopes of work to ensure feasibility and compliance.
- Standardize design templates and deployment methodologies to improve consistency and quality.
- Support complex system integrations and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including life safety and security system standards.
- Monitor contract deliverables, milestones, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Prepare and deliver program status reports, performance metrics, and compliance documentation.
Inventory Control & Asset Management
- Manage inventory lifecycle including procurement, tracking, warehousing, and distribution of security equipment.
- Implement inventory control systems to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize loss or overstock.
- Forecast material requirements based on project pipelines and service demand.
- Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate procurement timelines and pricing.
- Forecast material requirements and align procurement with contract funding and project schedules.
Program & Project Management
- Lead operational programs from initiation through execution, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and performance metrics for large-scale security deployments.
- Monitor program performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, service level agreements (SLAs), and regulatory standards.
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on operational performance and program status.
Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Supervise and mentor technicians, coordinators, and support staff to drive performance and accountability.
- Establish and refine operational processes, SOPs, and best practices.
- Act as the escalation point for complex operational or customer issues.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between operations, engineering, sales, and customer support teams.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field or 10 or more years of progressive experience in the electronic security systems
- 3-5 years of experience in alarm/security systems, low-voltage systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or program management.
- Strong knowledge of alarm systems, access control, and video surveillance technologies.
- Experience with inventory management systems, ERP platforms, or asset tracking tools.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-site programs and deployments.
Preferred Skills
- PMP or similar project/program management certification.
- Experience with integrated security platforms and IP-based system design.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and process improvement skills.
