Requirements

We are seeking a highly experienced
ESRI GIS Architect
to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in GIS principles, object-oriented programming, and hands-on experience with ESRI ArcGIS products. In this role, you will design scalable GIS solution architectures, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of robust, enterprise-grade GIS systems.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Design and develop
  end-to-end GIS solution architectures
  that accurately translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.

• 
  Evaluate, recommend, and document
  GIS technical designs
  , ensuring alignment with performance, cost, security, and scalability needs.

• 
  Collaborate with the
  Architecture Center of Excellence (COE)
  to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and future technology roadmaps.

• 
  Conduct continuous improvement reviews of existing GIS applications, services, and infrastructure to support evolving business demands.

• 
  Partner with Project Managers, Product Owners, and Delivery Teams to ensure solutions are implemented
  within defined scope, timelines, and cost parameters
  .

• 
  Lead technical development efforts, assigning and coordinating tasks across developers, GIS specialists, and other technical resources.

• 
  Provide technical leadership, coaching, and architectural guidance throughout the design, development, and deployment phases.

• 
  Analyze and articulate how proposed solutions impact the broader business, data, and technical landscape.

• 
  Define and drive
  GIS technology strategies
  , ensuring compatibility with enterprise platforms and long-term modernization plans.

• 
  Ensure architectural integrity, governance adherence, and best practices throughout the GIS solution lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

• 
  10+ years
  of professional GIS industry experience.

• 
  Strong foundational understanding of
  GIS concepts, spatial analysis, and geospatial data structures
  .

• 
  Proficiency in
  object-oriented programming
  with hands-on development experience.

• 
  Advanced experience in
  Python development using ESRI ArcGIS
  libraries and tools.

• 
  Skilled in creating and managing maps using
  ArcGIS Pro
  and
  ArcGIS Portal
  .

• 
  Experience developing
  ArcGIS Pro add-ins/plugins
  .

• 
  Expertise with
  ArcGIS Enterprise
  , including service publishing automation and environment configuration.

• 
  Familiarity with ESRI tools such as
  ArcGIS Workflow Manager
  and
  ESRI Data Reviewer
  .

• 
  Experience working with
  SQL Server
  or similar relational database systems.

• 
  Knowledge of creating and maintaining
  ESRI network datasets
  and
  geolocators
  .

• 
  Strong skills in
  GIS data analysis
  , geoprocessing workflows, and
  GIS ETL processes
  .

Qualifications

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in
  Computer Science, GIS, Geomatics
  , or a related technical field.

  Proven experience delivering
  GIS architecture and development
  projects in enterprise environments.

• 
  Strong analytical, architectural documentation, and problem-solving skills.

• 
  Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

  Demonstrated ability to
  lead, mentor, and guide
  teams of developers and GIS specialists.
