About the Role
BDO’s Project & Infrastructure Advisory team continues to grow and is inviting Expressions of Interest from Consultants and Senior Consultants with economic skill sets to join our Melbourne‑based team. These roles offer the opportunity to work on some of Australia’s most interesting and complex infrastructure and investment projects, partnering with government and private sector clients to support major investment decisions from early strategy through to delivery.
While the roles have a strong economics foundation, you will also have the opportunity to build experience across financial, commercial and strategic advisory as part of multi‑disciplinary project teams. This includes work on business cases, economic impact and cost‑benefit analysis, commercial assessments, and investment decision‑making for major infrastructure and precinct projects.
About the Team
BDO’s Project & Infrastructure Advisory team provides integrated economic, strategic, financial and commercial advice to government and private sector clients across Australia. The team works across a diverse range of sectors including transport, sport and entertainment, health, international development and real estate. As part of a collaborative and high‑performing national team, you will work alongside experienced advisors on high‑profile engagements, with opportunities to develop your technical capability and broaden your advisory skill set.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on your level of experience, responsibilities may include:
Contributing to the provision of written and verbal economic advice to government and private sector clients on proposed infrastructure projects and investment opportunities
Developing and contributing to bespoke economic models to support business cases, investment appraisals and government policy decisions
Supporting the delivery of economic advisory services for large infrastructure and precinct projects
Working across a broad range of advisory services, including elements of financial analysis, procurement and transaction management
Collaborating closely with senior team members to deliver high‑quality client outputs as part of multi‑disciplinary project teams
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Tertiary qualification in Economics, with Honours highly regarded
Experience in consulting, advisory or government environments
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem‑solving skills
Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
An interest in infrastructure, investment and public policy outcomes
Collaborative mindset and readiness to take on the next challenge in a growing advisory team
