Your area of work:


We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to strengthen Deutsche Börse Group Compliance in the area of ESG and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will join Deutsche Börse AG’s Group Compliance Oversight / Law & Regulation team and help ensure compliance with ESG-related regulatory requirements and proactively mitigate compliance or reputational risks, with a specific focus on preventing greenwashing and social washing. You will develop and maintain our ESG compliance framework, provide expert guidance to employees across the group, and support the Human Rights Officer in the central monitoring of our framework under the German Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, LkSG). Furthermore, you will monitor regulatory developments, assess their relevance for group entities, and support business areas in identifying implementation responsibilities.

Your responsibilities:

  • Serve as the central point of contact and subject matter expert for ESG compliance and LkSG matters, providing clear and practical advice across Deutsche Börse Group
  • Acting as subject matter expert for ESG and LkSG related questions
  • Responsible for assessing and deriving human rights-related due diligence measures as well as handling LkSG-related investigations in close cooperation with other affected business areas
  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of the ESG compliance risk landscape across Deutsche Börse Group, and support annual compliance risk assessment processes
  • Conduct compliance reviews of ESG-related statements to ensure they are fully aligned with internal requirements
  • Actively contribute to the design and implementation of ESG and LkSG-related controls
  • Maintain an ongoing dialogue with affected group entities and business areas, including local Compliance Functions across Deutsche Börse Group
  • Continuously monitor, interpret, and perform impact assessments on emerging regulations with a particular focus on ESG (e.g. LkSG, CSRD, CSDDD) and support consultations on upcoming regulatory frameworks


Your profile:

  • University degree in law
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience, ideally in compliance or financial regulation
  • Profound knowledge of relevant ESG, LkSG and CSR related requirements as well as of relevant regulatory legislations and requirements industry standards, and best practices for financial sector companies
  • Knowledge and interest in competition law would be considered an asset
  • Strong writing, conceptual, and methodological skills, ability to communicate positions in a clear and structured manner
  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation within a multicultural and multi-location, international environment with high level of initiative, commitment, and motivation
  • Fluency in German and English is required
  • A high level of commitment, strong communication skills, flexibility, and a hands-on mentality complete your profile
