ERMでは、日本のESG Advisory & Transaction Servicesチームに参画いただくコンサルタントまたはシニアコンサルタントを募集しています。本ポジションでは、M&A、投資、資金調達などのトランザクション案件において、ESG・EHS（環境・労働安全衛生）・環境デューデリジェンスを通じた支援を担当していただきます。

プライベートエクイティファンド、金融機関、投資家、企業クライアントに対し、重要なESG・EHS・環境リスク、潜在的負債、改善機会、バリュークリエーション機会を特定・評価します。また、ERMのグローバルネットワークに所属する多様な専門家と連携し、専門的な調査結果を投資判断や買収後の事業計画に活用できる実践的かつビジネス視点のあるインサイトへとまとめます。

本ポジションは、優れた分析力、コミュニケーション能力、プロジェクトマネジメント能力を有し、複雑な情報を整理・統合しながら、スピード感のあるトランザクション案件を推進できる方に適しています。デューデリジェンス業務に加え、買収後の改善施策や統合作業、ESGを通じた価値向上プロジェクトにも携わっていただきます。

主な業務内容

ESG・EHSデューデリジェンス

• M&A、投資、ファイナンス案件におけるESG・EHS・環境デューデリジェンスの実施
• 環境、EHS、社会、人権、ガバナンス、気候変動、サステナビリティに関連する重要なリスク・負債・機会の評価
• 環境管理システム、オペレーション、法規制順守状況、サステナビリティ活動のレビュー
• マネジメントインタビュー、現地調査、各種資料レビューの実施
• 環境コンプライアンス、土壌・地下水汚染、安全衛生、気候変動などの専門家による調査結果の統合・分析
• デューデリジェンス報告書、リスク評価レポート、改善提案書の作成
• 買収後のESG・EHS改善施策および価値創造プロジェクトの支援

ESGアドバイザリー

• トランザクション関連のESGアドバイザリー業務の支援
• ESG規制動向、市場トレンド、投資家要求事項のモニタリング
• ESGリスク管理およびガバナンス強化施策の支援
• サステナビリティ課題や情報開示要件への対応支援

プロジェクト推進

• タイトなスケジュール下でのプロジェクト管理および担当業務の遂行
• 国内外のERM専門家との連携・調整
• 提案書、業務範囲（Scope of Work）、予算の作成
• レポート、プレゼンテーション資料、顧客向け成果物の作成
• 複数案件を並行しながら高品質な成果物を提供
• ジュニアコンサルタントへの指導・支援

クライアント対応

• クライアントとの良好な関係構築・維持
• 会議、ワークショップ、プロジェクトコミュニケーションへの参加
• 調査結果や提言内容のプレゼンテーション支援
• 高品質な顧客サービスおよびプロジェクトデリバリーへの貢献

応募資格

必須要件

• ESGデューデリジェンス（ESGDD）、EHSデューデリジェンス（EHSDD）、サステナビリティコンサルティング、気候変動アドバイザリー、トランザクションサービス、または関連分野での5年以上の実務経験
• 環境デューデリジェンスに関する知識・経験

ESG Due Diligence (ESGDD) Consultant / Senior Consultant

ERM is seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our ESG Advisory & Transaction Services team in Japan. This role focuses on supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investments, financing and other transaction-related activities through ESG, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), and environmental due diligence assessments.

The successful candidate will work with private equity firms, financial institutions, investors, and corporate clients to identify and evaluate material ESG, EHS and environmental risks, liabilities, opportunities and value creation initiatives. Working alongside multidisciplinary technical specialists across ERM's global network, the candidate will help translate technical findings into clear, commercially relevant insights that support investment decision-making and post-acquisition planning. This role is suited to an individual with strong analytical, communication and client management skills who can effectively synthesize complex information, coordinate technical inputs and deliver practical recommendations in a fast-paced transaction environment. In addition to supporting due diligence engagements, the successful candidate will contribute to post-acquisition improvement initiatives, integration planning and other value creation activities that support long-term business performance and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

ESG & EHS Due Diligence

• Conduct ESG, EHS and environmental due diligence assessments in support of mergers, acquisitions, investments and financing transactions.
• Identify and evaluate material environmental, EHS, social, governance, climate and sustainability-related risks, liabilities and opportunities, leveraging specialist subject matter expertise where appropriate.
• Review management systems, operational performance, regulatory compliance and sustainability practices to identify issues that may affect transaction value, execution or post-acquisition performance.
• Conduct management interviews, site visits, and document reviews to understand operational performance, environmental liabilities and key ESG/EHS risks.
• Interpret and integrate findings from technical specialists, including environmental compliance, contaminated land, safety, climate and other subject matter experts.
• Prepare due diligence reports, risk assessments, and recommendations for investors and corporate clients.
• Support post-acquisition ESG and EHS improvement initiatives and value creation activities.

ESG Advisory

• Support transaction-related ESG advisory engagements.
• Monitor ESG regulations, market developments, investor expectations, and market developments.
• Support ESG risk management and governance improvement initiatives.
• Assist clients in addressing sustainability-related challenges and disclosure requirements as part of broader advisory engagements.

Project Delivery

• Coordinate project activities and manage assigned workstreams under tight transaction timelines.
• Coordinate inputs from ERM specialists across multiple technical disciplines and geographies to deliver integrated due diligence findings.
• Prepare proposal, scope of works and project budgets.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
• Maintain high-quality outputs while managing multiple projects and priorities.
• Provide guidance and support to junior consultants.

Client Engagement

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients.
• Support client meetings, workshops, and project communications.
• Support and contribute to presentations of findings, recommendations, and project outcomes to clients.
• Contribute to a high standard of client service and project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in ESGDD, EHSDD, sustainability consulting, climate advisory, transaction services, or related field.
• Working knowledge of environmental due diligence concepts, including environmental compliance, contaminated land, soil and groundwater liabilities and remediation considerations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative approach to problem solving
• Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders.
• Native-level Japanese language skills.
• Business-level English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Business, Finance, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
