The team you will be a part of

You will be part of the Latin America Legal, Regulatory Affairs & ESG team, a strategic and multifunctional group dedicated to driving Whirlpool’s sustainability agenda across the region. Our team focuses on accelerating core initiatives like the Circular Economy, Net Zero goals, and Take-Back systems, ensuring robust regional governance and regulatory compliance. We work in close collaboration with global and regional leadership to turn corporate responsibility into tangible business value and positive impact.

This role in summary

The ESG Analyst - Latin America is responsible for: (1) coordinating multifunctional teams in order to implement ESG projects and initiatives in the region, with the support of the ESG Manager and/or Sr Manager; (2) providing regional governance for key ESG-managed issues in Latin America where Whirlpool has operations, and (3) compiling, reporting and validating relevant information from the region for disclosure and communication purposes. This role will report to the Manager ESG LAR, based in Brazil, under the Director responsible for Legal, Regulatory Affairs & ESG in Latin America.

A key element of this position will be coordinating the execution of global and regional strategies, aligning various interfaces within the region and with the global structure (Global Sustainability and ESG teams, Regional Marketing, Regional and Global Legal, EHS, Compliance, Finance and other areas) to ensure the flow of information, implementation quality and timing, sharing learnings, etc.
One main pillar of work for the position is guaranteeing regulatory compliance for EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) obligations, adequate ESG reporting and governance throughout the region, as also monitoring new regulations coming up, mainly regarding circular economy.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Coordinating the implementation of ESG programs and initiatives (including circular economy, Net Zero and Take Back System - reverse logistics - WEEE) with multidisciplinary teams;
  • Ensure adequate Governance throughout those processes;
  • Regularly monitor new regulation movements across the region;
  • Cultivate a good interaction with communication and marketing teams in order to provide visibility to the Company´s ESG agenda;
  • Work collaboratively with the other ESG team members and all other interface departments;
  • Run ESG initiatives analysis within the context of the business to support discussions and decision making processes;
  • Prepare presentations and analysis to keep leadership informed about ESG main projects and initiatives;
  • Conduct face-to-face training sessions;
  • Manage area’s budget and report to the leadership, suggesting corrective actions or adjustments when necessary.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, Marketing, Legal, or a related field;
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking to identify risks and opportunities, combined with a strong bias to action and a problem-solving mindset;
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese, with full availability to work in São Paulo.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven experience in preparing and delivering material to audiences;
  • A team player profile, passionate about learning, self-development, and driven by ESG matters, inclusion, diversity, and respect for the individual;
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
