
A Salesforce Data Cloud Solution Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale customer data solutions using Salesforce Data Cloud. The role focuses on data ingestion, unification, identity resolution, segmentation, and activation to enable Customer 360, personalization, AI-driven insights, and cross-cloud use cases.
This position acts as a bridge between business strategy, data architecture, and Salesforce execution, working closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Service, IT, and Analytics teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Consulting & Use Case Definition
· Participate & lead business requirement workshops to understand customer data use cases (Customer 360, personalization, analytics, AI).
· Translate marketing, sales, service, or analytics requirements into Salesforce Data Cloud–enabled solutions.
· Define success metrics and KPIs to demonstrate business value and ROI from Data Cloud implementations.
2. Data Cloud Architecture, Configuration & Integration
· Design and implement Salesforce Data Cloud architectures, including Data Streams; Data Model Objects (DMOs); Data Lake Objects; Calculated Insights; Segmentation and Activation Targets
· Configure data ingestion pipelines from Salesforce and external systems.
· Implement identity resolution and deduplication strategies to create unified customer profiles.
· Integrate Salesforce Data Cloud with: Sales Cloud; Service Cloud; Marketing Cloud; Experience Cloud; External platforms (data warehouses, marketing tools, etc.)
· Enable real-time and batch data activation for downstream systems and channels.
· Support API-based integrations and middleware tools (e.g., MuleSoft).
3. Data Governance, Security & Quality
· Define and enforce data governance, consent management, and compliance (GDPR, regional privacy standards).
· Implement data quality checks, harmonization rules, and monitoring processes.
· Ensure scalability, performance, and best-practice alignment for enterprise data workloads.
4. Delivery, Enablement & Optimization
· Support POCs, pilots, UAT, and go-live activities for Data Cloud initiatives.
· Perform system health checks and continuously optimize data models and activation strategies.
· Contribute to internal assets and thought leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Data Cloud Skills
· Hands-on experience with Salesforce Data Cloud
· Strong knowledge of: Data modeling & harmonization; Identity resolution; Segmentation & Calculated Insights; Data activation across channels
· REST/SOAP API integrations
· Experience integrating with Salesforce clouds and external data platforms
· Familiarity with ETL/ELT patterns and data pipelines
· Exposure to MuleSoft or integration middleware (preferred)
Consulting & Soft Skills
· Strong requirement-gathering and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to translate business goals into scalable data architecture
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Client-facing consulting experience preferred
Experience & Certifications
· 5–10+ years of Salesforce, CRM, or data-platform experience
· 2+ enterprise Data Cloud / CDP implementations preferred
Certifications (Highly Preferred)
· Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant
· Salesforce Platform Administrator
· Marketing Cloud or AI/Einstein certifications (nice to have)
