Job Location: Elementary Campus - Santa Monica, CA 90404
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $30.00 - $30.00 Hourly

- Support classroom teachers and afterschool/summer programs with active supervision of students, maintaining appropriate student-to-adult ratios and ensuring safety at all times
- Participate in classroom, afterschool, and summer program preparation, organization, and logistical responsibilities, meeting agreed-upon timelines and deadlines
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment that demonstrates culturally responsive practices and fosters student engagement and belonging
- Arrange and monitor indoor and outdoor use of space, ensuring safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate environments
- Organize & supervise snack and lunch and facilitating clean up, ensuring efficiency and cleanliness standards are met daily
- Set up and clean up student projects, maintaining organized and accessible materials
- Photocopy and organize materials, ensuring accuracy and readiness prior to lessons/activities
- Decorate classrooms and bulletin boards, updating displays regularly to reflect current student learning
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and active involvement in student activities, consistently engaging with students throughout the day
- Interact effectively with children, parents, faculty, and staff, maintaining professional and timely communication
- Manage large groups of students, using consistent behavior management strategies aligned with school practices
- Develop warm and respectful relationships with students, as evidenced by positive student interactions and feedback
- Identify and respond to individual learning differences, supporting differentiated instruction in collaboration with lead teachers
- Collaborate with Student Support Services, implementing recommended strategies and documenting support as needed
- Supervise students during recess, pick-up, lunch, and afterschool, ensuring adherence to school safety protocols
- Chaperone field trips and overnight trips (if assigned grades 4 & 5), supporting student safety and engagement
- Participate in assemblies and special events, providing supervision and logistical support as needed
- Communicate with parents in a professional, respectful, clear, and timely manner, following school guidelines

Required Qualifications​​​​​​Education/Experience needed for this position include:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree
- Desire to pursue a career in education
- Strong computer skills
- Prior experience working directly with children grades K-5 in a school, camp, or daycare setting
- Knowledge of Crossroads philosophy and the ES approach to learning is preferred
- Strong preference for individuals in credentialing and/or advanced degree programs in Education
- Commitment to professional growth, reflective practice, and growth mindset
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for longer periods of time
- Ability to stand for longer periods of time
- Ability to walk around campus and climb stairs
- Ability to move and lift 40 pounds
Other Information
- Minimum for 40 hours/week Monday-Friday. Schedule will be set based on grade level placement and seasonal needs. Vacation time is set for beginning of August to be taken after the end of summer programs and prior to the start of school year meetings. An additional week off may be required at spring break.
- Availability to take vacation in August between the conclusion of Summer Programs and the start of School Year meetings is preferred.
