This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Equity Research Expert based in Canada.
This role offers an opportunity for an experienced equity research professional to apply deep financial research expertise to an innovative AI-focused project. You will leverage your knowledge of public company disclosures and SEC filings to analyze, interpret, and extract high-quality financial information. The position is well suited to professionals who enjoy detailed research, critical analysis, and working independently. You will contribute expert judgment to projects designed to improve the capabilities of advanced AI systems. The engagement is fully remote and offers flexibility to organize your work around your schedule. Strong contributions may also lead to consideration for future projects within the broader expert network.
Accountabilities:
- Analyze and extract relevant information from publicly available SEC filings and other financial disclosures.
- Apply professional equity research expertise to evaluate financial information and identify meaningful insights.
- Review, interpret, and synthesize complex financial data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Contribute expert knowledge and informed judgment to research projects focused on improving advanced AI systems.
- Complete assigned project work independently while meeting agreed timelines, quality expectations, and weekly availability requirements.
- Ensure all work is based on publicly available or permitted information and does not involve confidential or proprietary information from current or former employers.
- Collaborate effectively within a research-oriented environment and provide high-quality contributions that may support consideration for future projects.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in equity research, preferably at a leading or highly regarded financial services firm.
- Hands-on experience analyzing and extracting information from public SEC filings and corporate disclosures.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, company performance, valuation concepts, and equity research methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify relevant information within complex financial documents.
- Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to communicate financial findings and research insights clearly and concisely.
- Strong independent working skills, including the ability to manage assignments and priorities with limited supervision.
- Availability to commit at least 10 hours per week for a minimum four-week engagement.
- Ability to work as an independent contractor in Canada.
- Candidates must be eligible to participate in the engagement; H-1B and STEM OPT candidates are not currently supported.
