Join our team as an Executive Director and drive the future of systematic equities trading and derivatives across Asian exchanges. You’ll leverage your expertise in quantitative trading, technology, and leadership to deliver market-leading results and shape the evolution of our trading desk.

As an Executive Director, Asia Systematic Trader in the Equity Derivatives team, you will oversee the development and execution of systematic trading strategies across Asian markets. You will work with us to manage risk and P&L, drive the advancement of trading systems and algorithms, and ensure robust risk management. Your deep market knowledge, technical skills, and leadership will help us maintain a competitive edge and foster a culture of innovation and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Partner with quants and technologists to develop systematic trading and derivatives strategies
  • Oversee the design, development, and enhancement of proprietary trading systems for best-in-class performance
  • Drive innovation in alpha generation, execution, quoting, hedging, and risk management
  • Analyze market structure, regulatory changes, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and control functions to ensure seamless trading operations and compliance
  • Manage relationships with exchanges, vendors, and key stakeholders to support business growth
  • Oversee pre-trade and post-trade analytics, P&L attribution, and performance monitoring
  • Ensure all trading activities comply with regulatory requirements, firm-wide risk framework, and internal policies
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational rigor
  • Lead and mentor team members to drive business results
  • Represent the team in senior stakeholder and cross-functional meetings

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in systematic trading, equity derivatives, electronic market making, or related quantitative trading roles, with a proven track record of leadership
  • Experience on both the sell side and buy side is advantageous
  • Extensive experience developing and managing low-latency systematic trading systems and platforms (C++/Linux)
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and driving business results in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of Asian financial markets, listed derivatives, warrants, CBBCs, and options
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and programming skills; proficiency in C++ required, Python and other languages a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management, P&L analytics, and trading algorithms
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
  • High degree of numeracy and logical thinking
  • Experience collaborating across business, technology, and control functions
  • Professional qualifications from reputable training institutes or professional bodies in Hong Kong are recognized and valued

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Advanced degree in quantitative subjects (Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Experience with exchange connectivity, market data infrastructure, and trading system architecture
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and market structure in Asian exchanges
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SUN Certified Java Programmer, Cisco CCNP/CCNA)
