We are currently recruiting for an Equipment technician in an 12-month contract role to support our engineering department in Cork. The main responsibility of this role is the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing and new automation. A typical day to day, would include:

  • Provide first response technical support to automated equipment.

  • Responsible for defining maintenance and troubleshooting procedures of new equipment introduced to site.

  • Assist Engineering in the installation and implementation of new equipment. Responsible for the provision of equipment training to the wider engineering team.

  • Daily reporting into Engineering on all activities and highlighting concerns early.

  • Responsible for investigating and documenting process issues and report to Engineering all findings and solutions.

  • Support safety risk assessments for any new equipment introduced.

  • Ensure continual Quality System compliance by adherence to established and evolving Alcon QS requirements.

  • Assigned work adheres to H&S and environmental requirements.

  • Order and maintain stocks of spares and components.

  • Carry out modifications and upgrades.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A minimum Level 7 qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline

  • Strong technical ability and automation experience would be preferred.

  • Ability to trouble-shoot equipment issues.

  • Ability to work on own initiative.

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of ISO, FDA, GMP standards.
