The overall function of this position is Equipment Superintendent for District 08. The employee needs to be self-motivated and be able to perform duties many times without supervision or with minimal supervision and also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The employee will participate in DOTD structed training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks.
This is a hands-on field role that requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and strong documentation skills.
Position is located in Rapides, District 08/Unit 070 and report to ADA of Operations.
Four years of experience or training as a mechanic; OR
Four years of experience in the inspection of automotive equipment; OR
Four years of experience in the operation or inspection of heavy-duty gasoline or diesel land-based equipment.

Depending on assignment, Equipment Superintendent may:
Compensation: Equipment Superintendent – $ $61,422.00 Annually
Additional compensation may be considered impart with extraordinary qualifications in accordance with State Civil Service Rules and DOTD policy.
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency-wide permanent status employees); or by detail to special duty.
No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
