Responsible for supporting equipment design engineers in the development of design concepts and solutions
As an automation engineer you will be working on innovative automation projects in the Handling & Robotics Domain together with other mechanical, electrical design engineers and technology experts. We offer a broad spectrum of projects: logistical solutions for our internal product flows, robotization of difficult/non-ergonomic manual labor, development of solutions for automatic quality control, … (eg: mobile AGVs with robots on top to collect and deliver spools).
You contribute to the continuous improvement of our technology and to new developments. With your knowledge and commitment, you will grow into a global expert who helps to realize important design projects in a team and supports our plants.
Bekaert Engineering is a part of the Bekaert NV group. The teams are mostly located in Belgium and China but is responsible for the development of new machines and prototypes being used around the world in our plants. You will be part of this global team, but stationed in our highly automated factory in Spain. You will be responsible for co-developing the solutions with the global team, implementing these solutions in our Spanish factory as well as spreading these solutions worldwide to our other production plants.
Master degree in Industrial engineering control technology / automation / mechatronics
Experience with IEC 61131-3 PLC programming languages (Structured Text), drive/motion technology and industrial networks
Able to make visits to foreign engineering entities or production factories, travelling for negotiations with colleagues & external partners, commissioning machines, …
Knowledge of English language
