Perform work as assigned and assist others in shop maintenance, inspection, and repair of tools and equipment; perform fabrication work as necessary in the maintenance and repair of tools and equipment. Perform work in accordance with the Company's safety rules, operating regulations, and practices. Some work may be performed off-site, outdoors, on a call-out basis, and may involve overnight travel. NOTE: During the first 1,040 hours in classification, employee can work on de-energized equipment. After 1,040 hours in classification and with direct supervision or assistance of personnel in a higher classification, employee can work on voltages up to 300 volts.

What You'll Do:

  • Work under the direction of higher‑level employees to complete assigned tasks.

  • Assist with repairing transformers, regulators, and other electrical equipment, including cleaning, insulating, drying windings, and taking oil samples.

  • Help repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems such as pumps, compressors, valves, and control mechanisms.

  • Assemble, repair, and maintain tools.

  • Prepare metal for welding; perform basic welding and soldering; assist with grinding, sanding, cleaning, layouts, and cuts as directed.

  • Assist with panel wiring and perform basic wiring using drawings, prints, specifications, and CAD instructions.

  • Clean and prepare equipment (insulators, breakers, transformers) for painting; paint and stencil equipment.

  • Assist with testing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment; operate testing instruments; perform basic voltage, current, and oil tests.

  • Use computers to update equipment records, print nameplates, and maintain databases.

  • Operate company vehicles and forklifts; assist with cranes, rigging, and oil or vacuum processing equipment.

  • Follow safe operating procedures; maintain tools and equipment; keep work areas clean and organized.

  • Assist in training other employees and participate in job briefings.

  • Support employees at all job levels as needed.

  • Follow all company safety rules, operating procedures, and regulations.

  • Perform related or lower‑level duties as assigned.

High school diploma or General Equilvalency Diploma (GED).

Completion of a two-year vocational degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent education may be desirable.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

May be required to obtain a Commercial driver's license. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law.

This job requires "recommended" test results from HireVue Building Tech and Other Technician-Related Roles Virtual Job Tryout. This assessment is completed online, is untimed, and typically takes about 45 minutes to complete.   • Must successfully complete all job demonstrations, examinations or other training required within such time frame as determined by the Company.

  • Must be willing to work overtime as required by job responsibilities.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.

  • Must be able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone or during individual or group meetings.

  • Must be physically capable of performing all the essential physical functions of the position. and have the ability to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and responsibilities of the equipment repair facility.

  • May have to lift between 50-100lb objects; move and climb up to 28ft ladders; work at height from bucket trucks or man lifts; work in an enclosed/confined space.

  • Must be fitted annually for respirator / breathing apparatus. Eligible for Equipment Repair Mechanic "B," after successful completion of all job demonstrations and examinations associated with the Equipment Mechanic "C" to "B" progression within such time frame as determined by the Company, or vacate the position.

$30.14 - $31.82

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: H – Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
