Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Lead the implementation of process reliability (PR) systems to improve the performance of production equipment, ensuring alignment with operational targets.
  • Manage and maintain plant-wide preventive maintenance systems, promoting best practices and sharing knowledge with other plants to optimize maintenance programs.
  • Lead technical improvement initiatives, including automation enhancements, equipment capacity upgrades, and the replacement or installation of new machinery to support operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute technical skill enhancement programs for plant inspection and repair teams, facilitating the continuous improvement of technical capabilities and ensuring alignment with safety standards.
  • Oversee and drive building and facilities upgrades, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and in alignment with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to manage and implement technical improvement projects, ensuring successful execution and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Analyze annual maintenance costs to understand the total lifecycle cost of equipment, optimizing resource allocation and budgeting for future projects.
  • Ensure a proactive safety culture by enforcing compliance with health and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance across the plant.
  • Lead cross functional projects across the Australian Plant Network to improve plant uptime, including the preparation and championing of business cases for capital improvement projects
  • Support the deployment of Operational Readiness Plans align to Maintenance / Reliability
  • Design and implement a centralised Maintenance Program to aligned to ‘best practice’ methodology to drive performance improvement, efficient maintenance actions and safe work practices
  • Lead plant equipment life cycle assessment studies and recommend end of life replacement strategy as a major input into annual plant capex planning
  • Lead preventative maintenance effectiveness studies to continuously improve maintenance cost efficiency according to budget
  • Assess plant equipment reliability and identify / implement uptime improvements
  • Manage centralised vendor relationships, ensuring serviceability structures and escalation guidelines are provided for newly installed equipment
  • Prepare reports and analytics for equipment performance at a national level
  • Standardise plant equipment maintenance programmes and improvements across the network
  • Develop and assist in the delivery of technical training across the network in areas such as trouble shooting skills and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Promote and build a generative zero harm safety culture defined as “safety is the way we do business around here” through enabling compliance with regulations and implementation of safe Maintenance work practices (SWMS, JSA and Compliance Program)
  • Work with the National Maintenance Planning Manager to establish the Stores management systems, common standards, protocols etc. aligned to improving Unplanned Downtime
