Job Description

Waste Control, a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a full time, year-round Heavy Equipment Operator/ Laborer at our facility in Longview, Washington.

The Starting rate of pay is $25.11/HR.

The Schedule will be Monday- Friday from 7am- 5:30pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on Equipment such as checking oil, water, and tires.

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

  • Helps with Flagging on Site to ensure traffic is flowing.

  • Helps Drivers Tarp Trucks.

  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

  • Safely Directing Traffic by Flagging in the Transfer Station.

  • Helps CDL Drivers with Tarping Open Containers.

  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as Front End Loader, Fork Lift, and other Heavy Equipment.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.

  • Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.

  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
