The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team supporting the Air Combat Electronic Attack (ACEA) Program based at RAAF Base Amberley.

In this role, you will manage and maintain Ground Support Equipment (GSE) critical to operational readiness. You will contribute heavily to PST&M (Product Support Training & Maintenance) activities, including maintenance, modification, calibration coordination, asset management, and safety compliance. This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration with multiple maintenance teams to ensure equipment integrity and mission success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, inspection, and repair activities on a wide scope of GSE, ensuring operational availability and safety compliance.
  • Manage maintenance schedules and calibration for GSE, Support and Test Equipment and tooling according to approved documentation and airworthiness standards.
  • Conduct corrosion control and preventative maintenance inspections on GSE and plant equipment, including shipping containers.
  • Utilise asset management systems to monitor equipment condition, track maintenance history and recommend improvements.
  • Adherence to workplace health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and Quality Assurance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance, modification, and inspection activities in line with regulatory and Boeing standards.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Australian trade level Certificate in a relevant mechanical, automotive, or GSE discipline is mandatory.
  • Proven experience with vehicle and specialised GSE maintenance in aerospace, Defence, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems relevant to GSE.
  • Proficiency with support equipment asset management or maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with calibration and tooling inspection requirements.
  • Physical fitness and capability to undertake manual labour, including working at heights and outdoor conditions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Sound knowledge of WH&S, Quality Assurance, and Environmental regulations.
  • Current C class driver's licence; holders of heavy vehicle licenses, forklift licenses, or high-risk work licenses are highly desirable.
  • Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Negative Vetting 1 security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate will be required to complete and maintain government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1). Applicants must be willing and able to provide detailed background information covering their entire life history.
