The Position

The Equipment Engineering Co-Op is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining engineering documentation and records to ensure completeness, accessibility, and compliance with internal standards. This role supports the Facility Engineering and Automation teams by facilitating engineering document organization to ensure timely distribution of technical documentation to end users.

This full-time, 40-hour-per-week co-op runs from January through August 2027. The anticipated pay range is $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on the candidate’s degree level and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop system and work instructions for approving drawing updates and managing master drawing files securely
• Update facility drawings and P&IDs from As-Built redlines
• Locate manuals, cut sheets, and other similar information for equipment and subcomponents in project files or track down missing information from external sources.
• Organize information collected into equipment files to provide quick access to information by maintenance team members.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure documentation packages reflect current system configuration.

Requirements

• High School diploma and progressing towards completion of degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Familiar with reading engineering drawings (P&IDs, electrical diagrams, etc.)
• Able to locate physical items based on drawings and identify subcomponents (actuators, transmitters, switches, etc.)
• Ability to work independently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred

• 1+ years working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience extracting information from equipment cutsheets and manuals.
• Familiar working with equipment quality certificates and test result documentation.
• Prior experience with document organization and management systems.
• Prior experience with assembling bills of materials, manuals for manufacturing systems, or construction turnover packages.
• Prior experience working with Autocad
