Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will lead Savills’ non‑domestic EPC service line, ensuring consistent technical excellence across EPC Level 3–5 delivery, energy scenario modelling in support of M&E design, and wider MEES advisory work. The role supports Savills’ clients in improving building energy performance, decarbonising their estates, and understanding the operational implications of different design and retrofit scenarios. Working as part of the M&E Consultancy BP&O team, the EPC service lead will coordinate internal resources and supply partners, be responsible for the continued growth of the service, contribute to the development of new service offerings (including light‑touch Net Zero modelling), and uphold high technical standards across all assessments and outputs.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the non‑domestic EPC service line, ensuring compliant and technically robust delivery of EPC assessments up to Level 5.
· Grow the service line in terms of coverage, application, resources and technical capability.
· Undertake detailed dynamic simulation modelling (DSM) to support EPC certification and evaluate the impacts of improvement measures.
· Deliver scenario modelling for MEES compliance, EPC uplift strategies, EUI/operational energy implications, and carbon‑impact analysis.
· Coordinate and oversee the work of external EPC suppliers and modelling partners to ensure consistent technical quality and timely delivery.
· Support the expansion of the EPC+, MEES and Net Zero–related services by undertaking recruitment, developing scalable methodologies, templates and client‑ready reporting formats.
· Develop and deliver a “light‑touch” EPC/EUI modelling offer to support early‑stage Net Zero studies and capital planning programmes.
· From time to time, provide technical input to wider BP&O services, including ESOS, SECR, optimisation studies, metering strategies, and heat network assessments, as required.
· Maintain strong working relationships with property managers, surveyors, engineers and other Savills teams to deliver joined‑up client service.
· Oversee the quality assurance, peer review and continuous improvement of modelling, calculations, assessments and reports delivered under the service line.
· Support team development by coaching junior assessors and sharing best practice in EPC compliance low‑carbon design and DSM modelling.
· Advise, assist and deliver domestic EPC’s when required.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
· Qualified and competent EPC Level 3, 4 and 5 assessor with substantial experience delivering non‑domestic EPCs and DSM‑based modelling.
· Strong technical understanding of low‑carbon design principles, building physics, dynamic simulation, HVAC systems and fabric performance.
· Demonstrable experience in improvement‑measure analysis, EPC uplift strategies, MEES scenario modelling and operational energy/ESG considerations.
· Chartered (CEng) with CIBSE or another relevant engineering institution.
· Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to interpret complex modelling outputs and communicate them clearly to clients and non‑technical audiences.
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects, resources and suppliers in parallel.
· High standard of written and verbal communication, with experience preparing client‑facing reports, calculations, graphs and presentations.
· Ability to contribute to service‑line development, innovate processes and support the scalable growth of EPC and related advisory services.
· Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across multi‑disciplinary teams within the Savills ecosystem.
· Proactive in staying current with regulatory, methodological and compliance changes across EPC, MEES, DSM, Net Zero and associated regulation; able to interpret and communicate these changes to a wide audience, develop training materials, deliver training sessions, and adapt service line processes, templates and methodologies accordingly.
