The Vanderbilt Epidemiology Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) invites candidates to apply for tenure-track assisant professor positions. More than fifty epidemiologists at Vanderbilt conduct clinical and population-based studies, including four large cohort studies in the U.S. and abroad with survey data and biological samples from over 225,000 study participants. VUMC also hosts one of the largest DNA biorepositories linked with electronic health records, a valuable resource to Vanderbilt investigators for studies of genotype-phenotype associations. Areas of ongoing research include diet and nutrition, health behaviors, environmental exposures, genomic, metabolomic, proteomic and other biomarkers for disease risk and progession and racial and other inequities in cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other health outcomes. The Center is particularly interested in expanding its research in cancer epidemiology.

Successful candidates will have a doctorate in epidemiology or a related field with additional training or experience in epidemiologic research, and a demonsrated ability to develop and sustain an independent research program.
