Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced
Epic Patient Access, RTE & Referrals Analyst

to join our healthcare IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing the Epic Patient Access suite, including
Real-Time Eligibility (RTE)

and
Referrals

. The candidate will work closely with patient access, registration, scheduling, revenue cycle, and clinical teams to streamline patient intake, insurance verification, referral management, and front-end revenue cycle processes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Configure, maintain, and support the Epic Patient Access, RTE, and Referrals applications.

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and operational requirements from patient access, scheduling, and revenue cycle stakeholders.

  • Design, build, test, validate, and deploy Epic Patient Access enhancements and system changes.

  • Configure and support patient registration, insurance verification, eligibility checks, referral workflows, and authorization processes.

  • Support Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) transactions and troubleshoot payer connectivity and eligibility issues.

  • Build and maintain referral workflows, work queues, scheduling rules, and insurance-related configurations.

  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely production support.

  • Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and enhancement projects.

  • Perform unit testing, integrated testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Develop and maintain build documentation, workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and support documentation.

  • Collaborate with other Epic application analysts to ensure seamless integration with Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, MyChart, and other Epic modules.

  • Ensure all configurations comply with Epic best practices, healthcare regulations, and organizational governance standards.


Requirements


  • 3+ years of hands-on experience

    with
    Epic Patient Access, Real-Time Eligibility (RTE), and Referrals

    .

  • Epic Patient Access Certification is mandatory.

  • Experience in Epic build, configuration, implementation, testing, and production support.

  • Strong understanding of patient registration, scheduling, insurance eligibility verification, referrals, prior authorizations, and front-end revenue cycle workflows.

  • Experience supporting integrated Epic applications.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Mandatory Requirements


  • Epic Patient Access Certification (Mandatory)

  • Minimum
    3 years of relevant Epic Patient Access experience

  • Experience supporting
    RTE (Real-Time Eligibility)

    and
    Referrals

  • Excellent communication skills.


Preferred Skills


  • Experience in U.S. healthcare environments.

  • Knowledge of patient access, insurance verification, referral management, authorizations, and revenue cycle operations.

  • Experience integrating Patient Access with Epic Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, MyChart, and other Epic applications.

  • Understanding of Epic implementation methodology and healthcare interoperability.

  • Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
