As an Epic Client Systems Administrator, you will Install, configure, maintain and deploy the Epic client. The Epic Client Systems Administrator is essential for ensuring Epic application and infrastructure changes are communicated to the necessary teams across the enterprise. You'll have the opportunity to maintain Epic production (PRD) and non-production (non-PRD) Hyperspace/Hyperdrive environments, in addition to MyChart and Web Services infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete all required job training, including Epic certification, within first six months of employment and keep certifications up to date
  • Install, configure, maintain and deploy the Epic client and other delivery infrastructure components on Microsoft Windows servers
  • Maintain and support Epic ancillary services like Hyperspace and Interconnect and the related services
  • Help manage the Change Control processes for all Epic environment build migrations and infrastructure upgrades
  • Monitor Epic system performance as part of daily operational requirements
  • Review Sherlock and Galaxy notes and apply routine upgrades to all Epic environment client applications and back-end services
  • Assist in integrating other applications with Epic using web services
  • Implement Epic system high availability strategies and mechanisms
  • Monitor and fine tune the performance of Caché database instances
  • Develop disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintain Epic production (PRD) and non-production (non-PRD) Hyperspace, Hyperdrive, and client connection environments
  • Troubleshoot and diagnoses Epic application issues and implement solutions
  • Ensure Epic application and infrastructure changes are communicated to the necessary teams across the enterprise
  • Define, create user accounts, profiles, roles and maintain required audit information
  • Works closely with database, environment/infrastructure and internal/external enterprise security teams
  • Provide on call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualified in relevant field (Data Science or STEM subject) or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience working with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Proven solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
  • Proven experience with Citrix, VMware, or similar virtualization technologies
  • Proven ability to be self motivated, flexible, and able to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on call rotation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience supporting Epic client applications and infrastructure
  • Proven experience with healthcare IT systems and workflows
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.)
  • Proven prior experience in large enterprise environments with 24/7 clinical operations
