About EPG (Equipment Product Group)

Equipment Product Group (EPG) is a business unit within Applied Materials' WWO (Worldwide Operations) organization. EPG focuses on the manufacturing, refurbishment, upgrade, and lifecycle support of semiconductor equipment, particularly 200mm and legacy platforms. The team works closely with global customers to improve equipment productivity, extend tool life, and support growing markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Role requires technical knowledge and experience of EPG 200mm product and structure.

  • Solve complex technical challenges to enable stable, high-volume manufacturing and drive design improvements that ensure product reliability.

  • Partner closely collaboration with cross-functional team to ramp up manufacturing capabilities for building, integration and testing modules and establish robust manufacturing processes. Including highlight & key focus, project and priorities to support manufacturing performances.

  • Excellent reading & understanding of the manufacturing drawings. Use basic engineering and design 3D modeling tool (DFx/Solid works/Pro-E/AutoCAD/Inventor) principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing and/or product costs, and to improve product quality 

  • Determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements 

  • Determine root causes and corrective actions for issues that arise during assembly or system testing; perform Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis; and provide reports as needed 

  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing / Material Specification doc’s release/updates as needed.

  • Collaborate with design engineering teams and suppliers to ensure effective design-for-manufacturability and strong supplier process capability aligned with product requirements.

  • Microsoft office, SAP, Engineering Change Order experience required


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2-4 years of engineering experience in the semiconductor industry. Applied Materials tool experience with hardware expert is preferred.

  • Tool: MDP and ETCH is plus


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong conceptual knowledge and technical experience for everyday problem-solving on the job   

  • Solid interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly explain complex information to others  


Physical Requirements:
This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.
