Job Description

Audubon is currently seeking a EPC IT Business Partner to join our team in our Houston office. The EPC IT Business Partner serves as the primary on-site IT liaison for Audubon's Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) organization. This hybrid role develops a practical understanding of EPC workflows and technology requirements, coordinates IT services with centralized support teams, and provides responsive second-level desktop support, basic network troubleshooting, and supervised smart-hands assistance for network and office technology deployments. The position owns issues through resolution or effective escalation while helping ensure EPC personnel have reliable, secure, and well-supported technology needed to execute projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with EPC leaders, project teams, and administrative personnel to understand operational priorities, project demands, and recurring technology needs.
  • Serve as the principal IT point of contact for the EPC group, coordinating requests, communicating status, setting expectations, and engaging the appropriate IT specialists when issues require escalation.
  • Provide second-level desktop support for Windows computers, Microsoft 365 applications, collaboration tools, printers, mobile devices, peripherals, remote-access tools, and common line-of-business applications.
  • Manage assigned incidents and service requests throughout the ticket lifecycle, including acknowledgement, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, resolution verification, and effective transfer to other support groups.
  • Support employee onboarding, offboarding, office moves, workstation deployments, equipment refreshes, conference rooms, and project mobilization or demobilization activities for EPC personnel.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting, including verifying physical connectivity, cabling, link status, power, endpoint configuration, wireless connectivity, and reachability; collect diagnostic information and escalate advanced issues to the Network Team.
  • Provide supervised smart-hands support for basic network deployments and maintenance, such as mounting or replacing approved equipment, patching cables, labeling connections, connecting access points or switches, documenting port assignments, and validating power and link status according to instructions provided by network engineering staff.
  • Do not independently configure or troubleshoot firewalls, routing, advanced switching, network security controls, or other technologies outside the documented scope of the role; promptly escalate these matters to the technical team responsible.
  • Maintain accurate assets, inventory, location, cabling, and deployment records and assist with equipment staging, shipping, receiving, recovery, and lifecycle management.
  • Document recurring issues, support procedures, site information, and lessons learned; identify opportunities to improve the EPC user experience and reduce avoidable support demand.
  • Participate in IT and EPC projects, including site readiness assessments, technology rollouts, office openings, project-site support, testing, and user adoption activities.
  • Comply with applicable service-level agreements, cybersecurity requirements, IT policies, safety requirements, and change management procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical training and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Three or more years of progressive experience providing desktop, field, or service desk support in a business environment; experience supporting engineering, construction, project, or industrial operations is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, Entra ID or Active Directory concepts, mobile devices, printers, conferencing equipment, remote-access technologies, and endpoint peripherals.
  • Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, wired and wireless networking, Ethernet cabling, patch panels, switch ports, access points, and common connectivity troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to perform hands-on network support tasks from approved diagrams, procedures, and instructions while recognizing scope limitations and escalating advanced network or security issues.
  • Experience using an IT service management or ticketing platform and applying disciplined incident, request, asset, and knowledge-management practices.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, organization, documentation, and follow-through skills, with the ability to translate technical information for nontechnical users.
  • Ability to prioritize competing needs, work independently at an EPC office or project location, and collaborate effectively with centralized Service Desk, Systems, Network, Security, and business application teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and comply with cybersecurity, safety, and change-control requirements.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft fundamentals, or equivalent are preferred but not required.
