EPB Advisor – Energy & Building Compliance
We are seeking an experienced EPB Advisor to perform an independent assessment of two energy-related studies for a public administration building in Brussels. The role focuses on evaluating EPB obligations, energy performance targets, and required investments to improve long-term building sustainability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a desk study and independent review of existing technical and energy studies
Analyse EPB obligations for public and tertiary sector buildings
Assess compliance with Brussels energy regulations and frameworks (BWLKE, PLAGE, etc.)
Evaluate short-term and long-term investment requirements for the building
Identify required improvements to building envelope and renewable energy implementation
Provide recommendations to reduce primary energy consumption toward 133 kWh/m²/year by 2040
Analyse technical documentation, EPB certificates, as-built documentation, and audit reports
Deliver a structured and pragmatic assessment report with clear investment recommendations
Make informed assumptions where data is incomplete and provide independent conclusions
Requirements
Strong expertise in Brussels EPB regulations and energy performance compliance
Experience with BWLKE, PLAGE, and tertiary sector EPB/EPC obligations
Ability to perform comparative EPB analyses and independent technical assessments
Experience with energy efficiency strategies and building sustainability improvements
Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and provide pragmatic recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
Recognition as an EPB Advisor or PLAGE Auditor
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Languages
Dutch: Native or bilingual proficiency
English: Nice to have
