Notice of Vacancy:

Effective Date: 2026-2027 School Year

POSITION: Coordinator of Math Field Day

Upshur County Schools

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Curriculum, Building Principals

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

EMPLOYMENT TERM: 2026-2027 School Year, ongoing

SALARY: $750.00 Stipend

EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Curriculum Coordinator pursuant WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and UCBOE Policy 5010

JOB SUMMARY: The Coordinator will conduct all activities noted in the Responsibilities and Performances section of the job description. At a minimum, the Coordinator will be a teacher or Administrator in Upshur with a certification in Mathematics.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Coordinator will:

  1. Prepare testing materials for county math field days
  2. Review all math field day rules and regulations and be able to paraphrase them for students as needed
  3. Provide assistance as needed to school math field day contacts
  4. Communicate dates for Math Field Day to all Schools, and Transportation Director
  5. Oversee the scoring of all math field day tests; responsible for obtaining help for grading tests
  6. Oversee all testing conditions at math field day
  7. Help set up and clean for county math field days
  8. Submit all entry forms for regional and state math field day
  9. Attend regional math field day as chaperone
  10. Submit tests for Upshur County to regional math field day
  11. Arrange permission slips and transportation for students to regional and state math field day
  12. Publicize the results of county math field day winners
