Would you like to play a key role in our business?

Are you an Engineer looking for a new opportunity?

Join our Baker Hughes Team!

Baker Hughes is the leading energy technology company, who delivers across the energy value chain through our market-leading business segments. Built on a century of experience and conducting business in over 120 countries. Our innovative technologies and services are taking energy forward! Making it safer, cleaner and more efficient for people and the planet.

Partner with the best

The EOR/IOR Simulation Specialist builds, updates, quality checks, and interprets fit-for-purpose dynamic models to translate geological uncertainty, reservoir behavior, production history, pressure trends, injection performance, and recovery process assumptions into credible forecasts and recovery improvement cases that support technical recommendations and client-facing proposals.

The role is intended for a reservoir engineer with practical experience modeling recovery mechanisms such as waterflood optimization, gas injection, chemical EOR, miscible or immiscible displacement, conformance control, pressure maintenance, and sweep improvement.

As a EOR/IOR Simulation Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Building, update, and quality check fit-for-purpose static-to-dynamic reservoir models using available geological, petrophysical, pressure, production, PVT, SCAL, and well data..
  • Supporting history matching, pressure and rate diagnostics, aquifer behavior assessment, injection performance review, and identification of key reservoir uncertainties influencing forecast reliability.
  • Running base case, upside, downside, and development scenarios to evaluate waterflood optimization, gas injection, chemical EOR, pressure maintenance, conformance control, infill drilling, pattern balancing, and other recovery improvement options.
  • Modeling and interpret injection response, displacement efficiency, sweep improvement, mobility control, reservoir pressure support, breakthrough behavior, incremental recovery, and production uplift associated with selected EOR/IOR processes.
  • Documenting assumptions, model limitations, data gaps, calibration quality, sensitivity outcomes, and forecast confidence levels for technical assurance and proposal development.
  • Working with geoscience, reservoir engineering, production engineering, facilities, EOR/IOR, and commercial specialists to ensure simulation outputs are technically sound, operationally realistic, and aligned with project value drivers.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have BSc in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or related discipline; MSc preferred.
  • Have 8–12 years experience in reservoir engineering and reservoir simulation, including direct experience simulating EOR/IOR processes for mature field recovery optimization.
  • Have working knowledge of dynamic reservoir simulation, history matching, production forecasting, uncertainty analysis, reservoir surveillance workflows, and EOR/IOR process modeling.
  • Have practical exposure to industry-standard simulation and reservoir engineering tools, with the ability to interpret model results and communicate limitations clearly.
  • Have ability to prepare concise simulation inputs, forecast summaries, and technical assumptions for multidisciplinary studies and proposals.
