Responsibilities
·The EOD Instructor will provide his RSAF Shop Chief with theoretical knowledge, and provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice on routine peacetime explosive ordnance disposal (non-incident related) of RSAF Munitions.
·Prepare and conduct practical and classroom training (using inert munitions, equipment, and training devices only).
·Advise the RSAF at any time he considers an EOD operation or practice to be unsafe and to take precautions he considers necessary to protect personnel.
·EOD Instructors are strictly precluded from any ‘hands on’ activities involving the use of live explosives or munitions.
Job Requirements:
·Will be qualified in Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and have at least nine years’ experience working on aircraft armament and munitions of which a minimum of three years, but preferably four years, experience will have been in a practical EOD capacity.
·An ex RSAF Chief Warrant Officer (Skill level 9) or RAF EOD Team SNCO background is mandatory.
·It is essential that the latest practical experience must have been gained no earlier than one year prior to his taking up his position with the RSAF.
·Must have successfully graduated from military EOD courses, which include, base recovery after attack, foreign ordnance, chemical and improvised explosive devices, render safe and disposal procedures.
·Must possess a thorough knowledge of those weapons and munitions in the RSAF inventory appropriate to his assigned UMD position.
·Will, in accordance with RSAFM 105-8 be qualified to conduct On-the-Job (OJT) Training and have successfully completed an Instructional Techniques course.
