EOC Central Utilities Plant - CUP Operator
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under general supervision will perform a variety of tasks related to the operation of the Central Utilities Plant.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Work Experience
• Minimum two (2) years of experience at Operator level in Utilities Plant Operations, Boiler Hot Water Systems, Water Softener Systems, Cold Water, Hot/Heated Water, Fuel Distribution, Medical Grade Vacuum, Air, Instrument Air, Liquid Oxygen & Nitrous Oxide Distribution Systems. In addition, the Maceration Systems and processing of Medical Infectious Waste Streams.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
▪ Must have the ability to effectively conduct minor or major repairs, troubleshoot all equipment under the CUP’s jurisdiction, read & interpret blueprints, diagrams & schematics while working either directly or indirectly with O & M manuals with little to no supervision and demonstrate the ability to solve or approach problems or tasks using creative methods or other resources.
▪ Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and other hospital staff, and transmit or receive information through writing, talking or listening using the English language.
▪ Must have ability to maintain records of activities.
▪ Must have ability to operate micro-processing controllers and associated accessories.
▪ Must be able to perform preventive and corrective maintenance to:
◦ Electrical systems/equipment of the CUP to include installation or replacement of conduit & cable runs, electrical panel & connection boxes, electric motors, magnetic starters, control relays and printed circuit boards as the need to do so requires.
◦ Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to the Mechanical systems/equipment of the CUP to include plumbing, welding, fabrication, corrosion prevention, carpentry and masonry work as the need to so requires.
• Leadership skills: Ability to influence co-workers and other hospital staff to follow the achievement of common goals, and able to lead a team effectively to complete routine or special projects assigned.
