Purpose and Scope
Environmentalist helps to maintains and achieves a high level of cleanliness, quality and service that meets the needs of SACS. The Environmentalist also Maintain a high level of cleanliness in assigned areas.
Essential Job Functions
- Central Office & the Environmentalist shall use best professional efforts and skills to perform duties in a diligent, energetic, competent, and ethical manner, consistent with the School’s established policies, directives, and expected practices.
- You understand and accept that the values of Southern Avenue Charter, temperance and tolerance apply to your interactions with your supervisors, colleagues, students, parents, staff, and all others with whom you come in contact at or on behalf of the School.
- Provide and monitor individual guidance and motivation to associates to enable each one to perform to fullest potential.
- Ensure high quality percentage of clean is maintained in areas of assignment.
- Perform Quality Assurance Inspections as assigned.
- Monitor daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance. Ensure that all equipment is clean and professional in appearance at all times.
- Prepare associate disciplinary and variance reports and conduct follow-up investigation as needed, reporting findings to appropriate leader.
- Participate in department safety and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Report all unsafe equipment and acts. Assure that the integrity of security at the facility is maintained at all times.
- Ensure office, storage and closets are clean, organized, well maintained and professional in appearance at all times.
- Monitor service binders in assigned areas on a daily basis taking appropriate action to resolve concerns/comments.
- Depending upon location and availability of programs, may have access to use of internal applications as well as will have access to pagers and other technology that they will be responsible to use appropriately when needed.
- Respond to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action including timely follow-up.

Minimum
Qualifications
High School degree or equivalent, and 2 years' experience in a relevant area for a total education/experience of 2 years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).
Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and research techniques.
- Knowledge of the functions of the school division and its operating procedures.
- Analytical and organizational skills, good judgment, and initiative
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
- Ability to operate a computer and use appropriate software applications and office equipment.
- Ability to provide high quality customer service to diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in business English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment; must be able to use hands and fingers.
Unavoidable Hazards: The position is exposed to no unusual environmental hazards.
Sensory (ADA) Requirements: The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities.
