YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Environmental General Supervisor, you will be part of the Environment & Sustainability Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Lead and supervise the site environmental team including coaching and developing staff and ensuring compliance with the site environmental monitoring program; Oversee Environmental Monitoring Program and supervise day-to-day operations of the department; Play a key role in development, maintenance and implementation of the Environmental Management System; Track consumables and field equipment supplies and inventory; Maintain compliance with all regulatory, permits, monitoring and reporting requirements; Monitor the impact of the operation on the natural environment, identify areas of risk and propose adaptive management strategies to mitigate impacts; Promote site awareness of environmental requirements and conditions for operations and provide support and advice to department heads on inclusion of environmental consideration in work plans; Undertake regular site audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; Ensure incident response measures are in place, lead investigations, and prepare reports.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

University degree in Environmental Engineering, science or environmental discipline; 5-8 years progressive experience in an environmental role within a mining operation; 1-3 years in a supervisory role with demonstrated success mentoring a team of professionals; Knowledge of environmental management systems; Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario health, safety and environment acts, and any legislation directly related to the mining industry; Strong experience in field sampling methods and technical report writing and review are important for this role; Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint; Experience with EquiS Enterprise database is considered an asset. Your Work Schedule:Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine; Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada. #LI-CE1

Compensation StatementIn accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market. Minimum Compensation: $134,000 Maximum Compensation : $177,000
