About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold District’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform site inspections (exploration drills, underground mine, mill, septic, tailings infrastructure, hazardous waste)
  • Field Work (Surface Water, Groundwater, biological monitoring and other as assigned)
  • Able to conduct data entry

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Working towards a relevant degree in an Environmental field (Science, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Environmental Science/Resource & Sustainability, Biology, Engineering or other)
  • Experience with Spill Response and Mitigation Self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking, able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, growing work environment.
  • The incumbent will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (oral/written communication and presentation), a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Working Conditions:

  • The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7 days on and 7 days off (11-hour days).
  • Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.

Pay or shift range: $19 CAD to$31.97 CAD

The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
