Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor, sometimes referred to as a Housekeeping Supervisor or EVS Supervisor. The EVS Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall environment of the facility to ensure a safe, hygienic, and welcoming space for patients, visitors, and staff. The EVS Supervisor maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe hospital environment that supports patient healing and reduces the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

Shifts Available: Days

Employment Type: Full-time

Hours: 8-hour shifts - 8:00am to 4:30pm

Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Supervises a team of 25 or more employees in housekeeping, laundry, and linen services by providing leadership, direction, and support while fostering effective working relationships with staff, department heads, hospital personnel, and the public
  • Oversee housekeeping staff including scheduling training and performance management while conducting inspections to ensure cleaning standards are met and protocols are followed
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and high sanitation standards by developing policies and procedures, overseeing cleanliness of public areas, coordinating rental linen and uniform services, and supporting infection control, education, and multidisciplinary efforts
  • Manage inventory by ordering cleaning supplies and ensuring staff have proper tools and PPE for safe and effective work
  • Coordinate with nursing infection control and facilities teams to support terminal cleaning isolation procedures and urgent cleaning needs
  • Train staff on infection control procedures and cleaning protocols while maintaining records of training inspections and compliance documentation

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years Housekeeping experience in hospital setting

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with chemical sanitizers and general housekeeping functions

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies requirements, preferred
